A Theft Of Essence

A Theft of Essence was conceived in two parts : two distinct collections that communicate, echo, and breathe through one another. Together, they trace a life-path carved between control and liberation, a journey from imposed conformity to unapologetic self-expression.
These collections explore how marginalized communities navigate systems built to silence them, transforming restraint into resilience and revolt into beauty. Each piece honors the generational strength that carries us an ode to the mothers, the caretakers, the fighters, and all those whose quiet defiance became our foundation.
Through deconstruction, reconstruction, and the reappropriation of discarded materials, A Theft of Essence reclaims what was taken, and insists on the right to exist freely, fully, and fiercely.
